How to download and install maps in WorldBox?, for pc and cell phones tutorial.

This guide will help you download maps in WorldBox on any platform. It is important to note that the WorldBox external method can be risky on iOS. Since the December 3, 2021 update, it is easy to download maps on Steam on computers.

Formats:

Before starting, it is essential to understand the formats used by WorldBox:

- map.json: Old format for maps. Although it still works, it is out of use.

- map.wbox: Current format used since version 0.7.0. Contains the fully playable map layout.

- map.meta: Optional file containing statistics such as kingdoms, creatures or events. By downloading this file along with the map, you will be able to play with the map's original inhabitants and creatures.

Facility:

Android:

To download maps on Android, follow these simple steps:

1. Open the file manager.

2. Go to the downloads folder. If you can't find the map, search the internal memory and look for the map.wbox file. If the name is map (2).wbox or something similar, rename it.

3. Move the file to internal memory: internal storage > android > data > com.mkarpenko.worldbox > files > saves.

4. Select an existing save folder or create a new one (save1, save2, etc.).

PC:

Downloading maps on PC is similar to the process on Android:

1. You can locate the save folder quickly by searching in the file manager search bar: C:\Users\User\AppData\LocalLow\mkarpenko\WorldBox\saves.

2. If you prefer to do it manually, navigate to: C:\Users\Usuario\AppData\LocalLow and look for the mkarpenko > WorldBox > saves folder.

3. Create a save folder if necessary and place the map.wbox file and optionally map.meta.

Mac:

On Mac, follow these steps:

1. Press Command+Shift+G.

2. Enter the path: /Users/Usuario/Library/Application Support/com.mkarpenko.WorldBox/saves.

3. Create a save folder if necessary and place the map.wbox file and optionally map.meta.

iOS:

It is not recommended to try this technique due to the risks associated with using third-party tools. However, if you decide to do so, follow these steps:

1. Download an iOS injector.

2. Find the .wbox file.

3. Inject the map into the save folder you want to replace.

Possible mistakes:

If you encounter difficulties, here are some common mistakes and their solutions:

- If you have a pirated version of the game, it may not work correctly.

- Make sure the map is compatible with your game version and is in the correct format (.wbox).

- Avoid incorrect file names like map (2).wbox.

- If you created the save folder manually, try saving a game-generated map before replacing it.

Generate maps:

There are three ways to generate maps in WorldBox:

1. Default: Uses pre-designed templates and game settings to generate maps.

2. Custom sizes: Use external tools to create maps larger than those allowed by the game.

3. Image to Map: Use tools like WorldBot AMP on the official Discord server to convert images into maps.

Measures:

To understand the measurements of the maps, here is a theoretical explanation:

- Each map has a specific number of "chunks", which are units of measurement used in the game.

- The size of the maps varies depending on the number of chunks they contain.

- You can calculate the number of chunks in a map by multiplying the number of chunks in the smallest map by a specific value.
